Midori — Four Months Old and Already a Little Survivor

Midori is just four months old.

She should have spent her first months of life being cuddled, fed, played with and discovering that the world is a safe place.

Instead, she was found on the streets of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, starving.

Rescuers discovered this tiny girl while doing a TNR effort in the area. We don't know exactly what Midori's first few months looked like or how long she had been trying to survive on her own. We only know that when they found her, this little puppy desperately needed help.

And despite that beginning, Midori seems to have decided that people are wonderful.

She is incredibly sweet, friendly and absolutely adorable. She loves attention and affection and has all the openness and curiosity of a puppy whose whole life is still ahead of her.

That's the beautiful thing about Midori's story:

We're catching it at the beginning.

At four months old, she doesn't have to grow up knowing hunger or life on the streets. Her memories can become warm beds, full bowls, toys scattered across the floor, walks and adventures, belly rubs, and people who adore her.

Someday, the starving little puppy found during a TNR effort can simply be a family's beloved dog — so spoiled and so loved that it's hard to imagine her life ever started any other way.

Midori survived the beginning of her story.

Now she needs someone to give her the childhood she should have had all along.
