OUT-OF-TOWN Dogs with NDR refer to dogs we have saved that have yet to make their journey to Ontario. These dogs are currently in our care with the help of our partners in the area. These dogs will all travel to the Niagara Region once an appropriate adopter or local foster is found.

Sometimes, the dogs who have known the hardest beginnings turn out to have the biggest hearts. That’s our sweet Skyra.

Skyra is a beautiful Husky girl who was found wandering the streets. We don’t know exactly what her life looked like before she was rescued, but we do know that despite whatever she may have experienced, Skyra has remained incredibly loving, playful, and trusting of people.

With her gorgeous grey coat and white markings, Skyra is impossible to miss — but it’s her personality that truly makes her special.

Skyra absolutely loves people. She is happy to meet both women and men and enjoys getting attention, being petted, and simply being around her humans. She is also wonderful with children and has a fun, playful spirit.

She loves other dogs and would be thrilled to have a canine companion in her forever home. Another dog is not a requirement, but having a friendly four-legged friend would be ideal for her. Her history with cats is unknown.

Skyra is house trained, rides well in the car, and is not destructive. She is not known to be a barker and has no food aggression. Her current meals are kibble with rice, shredded chicken, and vegetables.

Like many rescued dogs adjusting to a new life, Skyra is still working on a few things. She is learning to walk nicely on leash and is currently working on crate training. When she first arrives in a new environment, she may be a flight risk until she has built a strong bond and feels secure, so her new family will need to be patient and extra careful during those early days.

Skyra has a medium-to-high energy level and is looking for a home where she can enjoy plenty of activity, playtime, and companionship. A securely fenced yard is required, and an apartment would not be suitable for her.

What Skyra really wants is simple: a family who will love her, keep her safe, give her time to settle in, and let her show them just how wonderful she is.
