Meet Bedtime: A Devoted Mama Ready for Her Own Happily-Ever-After
Bedtime is a darling Havanese mix with a soft, non-shedding coat and an even softer heart. She came to us from the shelter alongside her two nursing babies, and after dedicating herself to raising them, she is now enjoying some well-deserved time to decompress in her foster home. With her puppies nearly ready for their own homes, Bedtime is finally getting the chance to focus on being someone’s cherished companion— and she is absolutely thriving.
She is affectionate, loyal, and deeply connected to her people, the kind of dog who wants nothing more than to be close to the ones she loves. After everything she has done for her babies, it’s her turn to be pampered.
Daily Routine & Household Life
Bedtime has settled beautifully into a predictable routine and shows excellent house manners. She wakes up around 6:00 AM for a quick potty break, then happily relaxes in her crate or curls up on the couch while the household gets moving. She patiently waits for her favorite morning ritual— quiet cuddle time with her person.
After that, she heads out for a longer walk, which she truly enjoys. Once back home, she typically naps in her crate and recharges for the rest of the day.
Throughout the afternoon and evening, Bedtime loves to:
-Follow her people from room to room
-Spend time in the backyard
-Play with her canine foster sibling
-Greet the kids when they return from school
-Settle in for cozy couch time
If backyard play hasn’t fully satisfied her energy, she is always happy to go on a second evening walk.
Dinner is usually around 4:00 PM, and while she can be a bit of a picky eater, she does best when encouraged and especially enjoys a little chicken mixed into her kibble. Her day always ends the same way— snuggled close to her people before heading to bed around 8:30–9:00 PM, where she sleeps soundly on a dog bed right beside her foster’s bed all night long.
Personality: The Ultimate Velcro Companion
Bedtime is, quite simply, a love bug. From the moment she arrived, she formed a strong bond with her foster and quickly became a loyal shadow, following along from room to room and seeking out affection whenever it’s available.
She is:
-A true lap dog and cuddle enthusiast
-Gentle, affectionate, and emotionally connected to her people
-Curious and observant (she has been caught watching TV more than once!)
-Playful and joyful when it’s time for fun
-Deeply devoted once she feels safe
She has blossomed tremendously since leaving the shelter. What began as uncertainty has transformed into trust, confidence, and a sweet eagerness to be part of the family.
Bedtime is also wonderfully expressive— her adorable ponytail ears, signature head tilts, and joyful bunny hops during playtime make her endlessly charming. And if you forget to pet her while she’s sitting beside you, she will gently remind you with a polite little nose nudge.
Social Life: Dogs, Kids, and New People
Bedtime enjoys the company of other dogs and especially loves having a playful canine companion. In her foster home, she and her dog buddy happily run and chase each other until they are tired, then settle down together to relax.
She has also done beautifully with children, interacting with kids ages 7 and 11 with patience, gentleness, and a playful spirit.
When meeting new adults—particularly men—or unfamiliar dogs, Bedtime may initially feel unsure and can be vocal or reactive. With calm introductions and a little time, she relaxes and forms strong bonds. Her progress in her foster home shows that she is very capable of learning and adjusting with guidance.
Training & Manners
Bedtime is a smart and eager-to-please girl who responds well to structure and gentle correction.
Her strengths include:
-Housetrained
-Crate trained
-Sleeps quietly through the night
-No destructive chewing or digging
-Loves walks and outdoor time
-Highly trainable and motivated to please
She does pull on leash at times and can react to unfamiliar men or dogs on walks, so continued training and confident handling will help her keep building good habits. She has already shown that she learns quickly and wants to do the right thing.
She can also be a little vocal when left alone at first, but she settles with time and reassurance.
Why We Love Bedtime
Bedtime has the heart of a caregiver. She devoted herself completely to raising her puppies, and now she pours that same love into the people around her. She greets each day with gratitude, affection, and a quiet joy that makes everyone feel special.
She is the kind of dog who will curl up beside you at the end of a long day, rest her head gently against you, and remind you how comforting unconditional love can be.
After being such a wonderful mom, Bedtime is finally ready to be someone’s baby.
