Xena is the kind of dog who makes a house feel like home.

She is happy, energetic, smart, and completely devoted to her people. She loves fetch, walks, hikes, squeaky toys, and following her person everywhere they go - and we do mean everywhere. She is good with kids, cats, and other dogs, house trained, crate trained, and communicates clearly when she needs to go out by tapping on her crate door or giving a polite whine. She prefers to be outside playing in a big yard rather than cooped up inside, and she thrives with an active family who will match her energy.

Xena does have two manageable medical conditions. She has EPI, which means she gets enzymes added to her food at every meal, and Panus, which requires steroid eye drops twice a day. Her vet has confirmed that with consistent daily management, Xena can live a completely normal, full, healthy life - just like any other German Shepherd. She just needs an adopter who is committed to keeping up with her routine.

A tall fence, plenty of space to run, lots of love, and someone who will make her health a priority - that's all Xena needs to be the best dog you've ever had.
