Hi… I’m Marla

I am a 4 years old English Bulldog, weighting about 30 lbs and full of personality.

I guess the first thing you’ll notice about me… is my mouth.
There’s almost always something in it—a ball, a toy, sometimes even something I probably shouldn’t have picked up. But to me, it’s not just a toy… it’s comfort. It’s my way of holding onto something that makes me feel safe.

When I carry my little ball around, I feel proud. Like I have a purpose. Like I belong somewhere.

I’m spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and healthy, but the thing I want most isn’t found in a medical chart.
It’s found in a family…
a lap…
a warm voice…
a safe place to rest my head.

I am from Southern California and coming to live with my foster family in Ridgefield, WA and can travel to Vancouver, BC if there is a potential adopter for me. My adoption fee is $800USD

Here is my story:

I’m not a complicated girl. I don’t need much.
Just a soft place to lay down…
a hand that reaches for me…
and someone who smiles when they see me coming, toy and all.

I love to play—oh, I really do.
If you throw my ball, I’ll chase it like it’s the most important thing in the world. And when I bring it back, I’ll hold it tight, looking up at you like, “Did I do good? Want to play again?”

But I also know when it’s time to slow down.
I’m at that perfect place in life where I can run and play… and then happily plop down beside you, just to feel close. I don’t need to be the center of attention—I just want to be part of your world.

I get along with everyone—big dogs, little dogs, new people, old friends.
I don’t make things complicated. I just… fit in.

But if I’m being honest…
there’s one thing I’ve been waiting for.

A home.

Not just a place to stay—but a place where my toys don’t have to be packed up again.
A place where I don’t have to wonder if I’ll still be there tomorrow.
A place where someone says, “That’s Marla. She’s ours.”

I promise I’ll bring you my favorite ball every day.
I’ll follow you from room to room, just to make sure you’re not alone.
I’ll make you laugh with my little habits and my proud, toy-filled smile.

And one day, without even realizing it…

Despite their tough appearance, English Bulldogs are affectionate, loyal, and great with children, making them excellent family pets. Due to their brachycephalic nature, they may struggle with overheating and breathing issues, requiring attentive care and moderate exercise to keep them healthy and happy.
