Meet Bruno Bennett!
Bruno Bennett is a 5-year-old, 40-pound Curly-Coated Retriever/Poodle mix who is ready for something he's been missing for a while: a forever home that really means forever.
Originally purchased from a breeder, Bruno was later rehomed with another family member following a divorce. Now life is changing once again, and this handsome curly guy finds himself searching for a new family.
Bruno is neutered, up to date on his vetting, and fully house trained. He has never needed to use a crate and is accustomed to living as part of the family.
Like many dogs, Bruno appreciates having some personal space while he eats. He's not comfortable with toddlers reaching into or interfering with his food bowl, so his best match will be a home with older, dog-respectful children who understand that dogs deserve boundaries too. Give Bruno his space at mealtime, and everyone can happily enjoy dinner in peace. He's a friendly guy and does well with other dogs.
At 5, Bruno is past the puppy chaos but still has plenty of energy for fun. He would love an active family who will include him in walks, outdoor time, play, and everyday adventures. A large, securely fenced yard where he can stretch his legs and enjoy some freedom would be a wonderful fit.
Bruno doesn't need to start over again and again. He needs people willing to understand him, respect his boundaries, and give him the stability he's been waiting for.

All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).
The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention.

Breed labels are given based on information obtained during intake and/or best guesses based on appearance and/or temperament of the dogs and Take Paws Rescue gives no assurance to the accuracy of these labels. ***Take Paws Rescue, based in New Orleans, saves dogs from high-kill shelters across the South, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it's the perfect match!
