Meet Crouton

Crouton is a 2-year-old Collie mix with the sweetest face, the happiest smile, and a gentle personality that instantly makes people fall in love with her. At just 22 lbs, she's the perfect medium-sized companion with a soft, loving demeanor and beautiful fluffy coat to match.

This sweet girl is spayed, heartworm negative, and up to date on all of her vet care. She's also dog friendly and has been nothing but kind and gentle with everyone she's met so far. While she hasn't officially been cat tested yet, we think she would likely do well with cats given her calm and sweet nature.

We're still getting to know Crouton and watching her personality blossom more each day, but one thing we know for certain is this: she's safe now, loved now, and finally getting the chance she deserves.

Crouton is looking for a family who will continue showing her what the good life feels like - soft beds, full bowls, and all the love she's been missing.

All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention.

***Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters across the South, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it's the perfect match!

The Collie is a graceful and intelligent dog known for their loyalty, gentle nature, and exceptional herding abilities. They come in two coat varieties, rough and smooth, with colors ranging from sable and white to blue merle. Collies excel in obedience training and thrive on mental stimulation and physical activity. Their keen intuition and strong bond with their owners make them wonderful family pets and reliable working dogs in tasks such as herding livestock or in search and rescue missions.

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
