Meet Pearl: 4 Pounds of Pure Main Character Energy
At approximately 16 years young, Pearl is proof that legends don’t fade—they get better lighting and softer blankets.
This long-haired Chihuahua queen arrived at MADACC in rough shape and was initially thought to be a hospice case. Plot twist: Pearl had other plans. With a little TLC (okay, a lot), some dental sparkle, and a successful glow-up, she has bounced back beautifully and is now ready to write her next chapter—preferably from a plush bed in a sunbeam.
Let’s get one thing straight:
Pearl may be teeny, slightly wobbly, a little vision-impaired, and fully deaf… and absolutely none of that slows her down. She cruises the yard, keeps up with dogs 10x her size, and has zero hesitation climbing directly onto a Golden Retriever like it’s her personal chaise lounge.
Her vibe?
Soft blankets. Warm sunshine. Casual exploring. Strategic snack acquisition. Repeat.
The highlights:
Deaf (so… immune to nonsense and bad opinions)
Limited vision on one side (still finds every cozy spot with expert precision)
Signature “cute little wonky walk” from an old leg injury (vet-approved, zero pain, maximum charm)
Fully housebroken on a schedule
Gets along with dogs, cats, and humans alike
Low energy, low drama, low barking… high snuggle potential
Her hobbies include:
Interior design (re: locating the coziest bed in the house)
Following her people around like a tiny, loyal shadow
Sunbathing like a retiree in Palm Springs
Accepting treats like the royalty she is
Fashion sense?
Hot pink. Cheetah print. Ideally both at once. Add sparkle.
Walk-up song?
Respect by Aretha Franklin — because obviously.
Pearl is the definition of “easy.” No behavioral quirks, no chaos, no diva demands (despite appearances). She just wants a soft place to land, kind humans, and a steady flow of snacks and sunshine.
She’s been through a lot, and somehow came out the other side sweeter, braver, and more lovable than ever.
If you’ve got a warm lap, a gentle home, and a soft spot for tiny seniors with big personalities… Pearl is ready to claim her throne. 👑
