Meet Norman
AKA: The Friendliest Costco Employee Ever
Breed: Hound/Shepherd Mix
Age: 12 years young
Weight: 50 lbs
Rescue: Albert's Dog Lounge
Fostered in: Madison, WI
Some dogs spend their retirement years slowing down.
Norman spends his enjoying the finer things in life: sunny afternoons, comfy couches, leisurely strolls, and greeting absolutely everyone he meets like they've been friends for years. He would be the best Costco employee, friendly and full of years of hard-won knowledge. He can already tell you where to find the snacks, the rotisserie chickens, and the fluffy dog beds.
At 12 years old, Norman has mastered the art of happiness. He's a low-key gentleman with a goofy streak, a curious nose, and a world class talent for finding the softest spot in the house. Whether it's the couch, a dog bed, or your favorite chair (don't worry, he'll share), Norman believes comfort is a lifestyle.
Why We Love Norman
Costco employee of the month, professional snuggler, and champion napper
Friendly with men, women, children, cats, and other dogs
Housebroken and easy to live with
Rarely barks
Low-shedding and low-maintenance
Happily dressed for success in funky sunglasses
Has perfected the most hilarious sleeping positions known to dogkind
Will check your Costco receipt and comment on what you bought "Oh, that's a nice shrub you have there. You better plant it quick and don't forget to water it the next few days!"
Norman's favorite hobby? Imagine your happiest Costco greeter tail wagging, delighted to see everyone, and genuinely convinced that every stranger is a new friend. That's Norman.
Being a hound, he experiences life nose-first. Walks are less about exercise and more about reading the neighborhood newspaper one smell at a time, so he's still polishing his leash manners. He calls it "Dogbook". But honestly, when you're this charming, it's hard not to forgive a few extra sniff breaks.
A Few Things to Know
Norman has a history of seizures, but they are sporadic and infrequent. He does not need medication for them. He does take fish oil and Cosequin daily.
He is crate trained, although he'd much rather spend his golden years free-roaming and snoozing near his people. He's currently working on his enthusiasm for being first out the door, but he's no escape artist.
Norman's Dream Home
Honestly? Norman isn't asking for much.
A cozy place to nap.
A family to love.
Someone who appreciates leisurely walks and the occasional snore soundtrack.
Maybe a yard where he can lie outside on a crisp fall day, soaking up all the wonderful scents and sounds around him.
And if you happened to have a Costco membership, well. Those rotisserie chickens look pretty amazing.
If you're looking for a hiking partner to conquer mountains, Norman will cheer you on from the couch.
But if you're looking for a loyal companion, an expert cuddler, and the kind of sweet old soul who makes every house feel more like home...
Norman is ready to spend his golden years loving you with his whole heart.
And trust us this distinguished gentleman still has plenty of joy, snuggles, and goofy sleeping positions left to share.
