Meet Rika!

Rika is a tiny, five-pound Chihuahua who came from an unfortunate situation and didn't get the socialization she needed early in life. Now, she's learning something new: how to be a dog, how to trust, and how to feel safe.

She can be nervous around humans, but once you earn her trust, you'll have the sweetest little sidekick by your side. She just needs someone willing to let her go at her own pace and show her that the world can be a safe place.

Rika would do best in a quiet, patient home with no children under 16. She takes a little time to understand that new dogs aren't a threat, but she may do well with a confident, non-dominant dog who can help show her the ropes without overwhelming her.

We're currently working on potty training, and while she's still learning, she reliably uses potty pads. And when she's ready to relax? Rika absolutely loves snuggling up with her blankies.

Rika doesn't need someone to rush her into becoming a confident dog. She needs someone who understands that trust is earned in tiny moments-and who will celebrate every one of them.

If you have the patience, a quiet home, and a whole lot of love to give, Rika may be the little companion you've been waiting for.
