Hi, I'm Francisco!

I'm a gentle, goofy, and affectionate guy who may be a little shy when we first meet. I just need a few minutes to get comfortable and let you get on my level so I can decide you're trustworthy. Once I warm up, I love attention and affection!

My foster mom says I have an adorable old-man face that reminds her of her grandfather, which is how I got my name. I'm a pretty goofy guy, and I have a few funny quirks that make me extra special.

I'm making good progress with potty training, learning basic manners, and working on my leash skills. I'm also learning that my kennel can be a positive place. I may let you know I'd rather be out, but I'm not especially loud and I'm learning to settle.

I have moderate energy and love being outside. A home with a yard and a doggy door would be wonderful because I really enjoy outdoor time. There is one little catch: sometimes I decide I'm not ready to come inside! When my people come to get me, I have a hilarious habit of flopping over like someone unplugged me, which means I may need a little help heading back inside.

Another friendly dog could help me feel more confident around new people, but it isn't required. I haven't met cats yet, but my foster family suspects I may do well with them. I'd do best with a patient family who will give me time to build confidence and continue learning.

And the way to my heart? CHEESE! I'm not a fan of fruit or peanut butter, but cheese has my full approval. If I ever need medicine, cheese is definitely the way to go. I hope we can be cheese heads together!

This pet is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm disease. Activity must be restricted for several weeks during recovery. RSR will cover the full cost of treatment. RSR will provide heartworm preventatives until the retest is due. The adopter will be responsible for scheduling the retest and obtaining any follow-up prescriptions through their veterinarian.
