Moose is a sweet, silly 3 year old Chihuahua / Jack Russell Terrier mix that weighs 15 lbs. He is fully grown and won't get any larger. Moose is the perfect little package of cuddles, kisses, and personality! He is the definition of an affectionate cuddle bug who wants nothing more than to be close to his people. He loves being doted on, soaking up all the cuddles he can get, and showering his favorite humans with puppy kisses every chance he gets. His love language is physical touch, and he never misses an opportunity to hop into your lap and snuggle up close. But don’t let his cuddly side fool you. This little guy has a playful, silly personality that makes him just as much fun as he is sweet. He loves his toys almost as much as he loves his humans. You can usually find him carrying around one of his beloved stuffed animals, and his bedtime routine might just be the cutest thing ever. Before settling in for the night, he carefully carries his toys into his kennel one by one and arranges them on his bed before climbing in himself. When he can’t find a doggy friend to play with or a human available for cuddles, he’s perfectly happy surrounding himself with all his favorite toys on the couch. He’ll toss them around, chase after them, and then settle in to snuggle and suckle on them until he drifts off for a nap. He loves making dog friends too! His best friend in his foster home is a pittie, but he loves dogs of all sizes and personalities. He is also naturally curious and has a little bit of a nosy neighbor personality. He likes to keep tabs on what everyone in the neighborhood is doing, and his favorite spot is perched on the back of the couch, where he has the perfect view out the window. Although he acts like he's shy when he first meets someone new, it just takes a short time before he's hopping up in your lap asking for some belly rubs. And when it comes to summertime fun, Moose is all about the doggy pool. He’ll take off running from across the yard just to jump right in. Once he’s finished splashing around, he celebrates with the cutest zoomies before burrowing himself into a patio chair to dry off. Between his silly antics, adorable quirks, and endless affection, Moose has a way of making every day a little brighter. If you’re looking for a small companion with a huge heart, a playful spirit, and an endless supply of cuddles, Moose might just be your perfect match!

Moose is medium energy, so he best described as a perfect mix of active and laid back. He has short spurts of energy that are easily burned with playtime in the backyard with his doggy friends, swimming in a puppy pool, or entertaining himself by tossing his own toys to chase after. He requires a few short energy burning activities per day, then he will turn into the biggest cuddle bug that will nap for hours. He really loves playing with the dogs in his foster home. He always likes to join in on the action if others are playing around him, but if he can't find anyone to play with, he will happily entertain himself. He never passes up the chance to hop in the car to join his humans on dog-friendly outings and absolutely loves going to dog-friendly stores around town. He knows when he rolls up to Starbucks that he is getting a sweet treat, and will perk his ears all the way up and stare at the baristas until they pass over his pup cup. He is very food motivated and loves playing with puzzles and treat dispensing toys. His ideal home will have a toy box full of squeaky toys, ropes, and chew toys, and he’d be thrilled to have a BarkBox subscription to keep the fun going with new surprises every month.

Moose is dog and kid friendly. He is currently in a foster home with multiple dogs of different ages and sizes. He loves every dog he meets and would love to have another playful doggy companion in his forever home. He loves his pittie foster sisters the most, and loves to romp around and play tug-o-war with them like he's their size too. He also loves curling up to nap with them when he doesn't have a human to cuddle up next to. He knows proper doggy communication skills and how to respect boundaries with doggy friends, and takes correction well if other dogs communicate that they don't want to play. He would do best with older kids in his foster home that are over 10 years old. Because he is a small breed dog, no toddlers or babies in the home that may terrorize him by pulling on his ears and tail (because those big ears are tempting to touch even for adults). Because he is incredibly sweet, playful, and affectionate, and he truly enjoys being around his people, and would love to have older kids in the home so that he can have more belly rubs and maybe even someone who won't mind tossing his toys for him to chase too. Moose has not been introduced to cats so it is recommended no kitties in his forever home unless you can keep separated and do slow introductions to ensure they will acclimate to each other and not let Moose get beat up by a cat larger than him.

Moose is potty trained, leash trained, and kennel trained. He will sleep in a kennel at night with no fuss, but has to be make sure all of his favorite toys are tucked into bed with him before he falls asleep. He really loves sleeping with his humans though, and would love to have more opportunities to snuggle with them all through the night. He is fully potty trained and will notify you he needs to go outside by pacing at the backdoor. If you don't notice him after a few minutes, he will start whining to get your attention. He would also benefit from having a doggy doorbell by the back door in his forever home so he can notify you when he needs to go out. He is leash trained and loves to go on walks so he can be the nosy neighbor and check out what's going on in the neighborhood. He enjoys going out and about every chance he gets with his fosters, and gets excited when he sees his leash come out because he knows he gets to go on a fun adventure. He does get excited when he sees other dogs on walks because he wants to go say hello to them and doesn't understand why not all dogs want to be friends with him, but is easily redirected with a treat and will continue on his walk after that.

Moose's ideal home would be one where he can be included in his family’s daily life and get plenty of love, playtime, and attention. He does need to live in a home with a fenced yard to run and play in. He just wouldn't be comfortable in an apartment, condo, or townhouse because he really loves running around the backyard, sunbathing in the grass, and splashing around in puppy pool. He would thrive in a home with another playful, friendly dog of any size, but would also be content having a lower energy furry friend to snuggle up with too. No public dog parks for this sweet boy because who wants to risk your pup catching a disease or being bullied on by other random dogs anyways. He would do best with a family that is home more often than not, so someone that works from home, is a stay-at-home parent, or is active and retired are going to be prioritized over someone that works outside of the home. He just really loves spending time with his people and would be happier if he had a human to follow around all day. He would love to have older kids in the home to play and cuddle with too. If you’re looking for a loving, playful, cuddly, and fun-loving pup who wants nothing more than to be part of your family and share in life’s adventures, Moose just might be your perfect match. He is simply happiest sharing his life with those he loves, and he is ready to find a family who will appreciate his goofy personality, sweet demeanor, and playful spirit.
