Harris is a super sweet, laid back 3-4 month old lab mix that weighs 19 lbs. He is estimated to be around 55-60 lbs when he is fully grown. With his gentle nature, easygoing personality, and adorable love for cuddles, Harris is the kind of puppy who is happy to simply be wherever his people are. Harris is sweet, playful, and gentle, with a wonderfully calm and observant personality. He is the type of pup who likes to sit back and take everything in before jumping into the action. While his siblings may be busy running around the house and getting into mischief, Harris can often be found relaxing on a dog bed, quietly watching and observing everything going on around him. He definitely isn't boring though. Once he decides it is time to join the fun, Harris loves splashing around in the pool, playing with the kids in his foster home, and having a good time with the other dogs. One of Harris's favorite things in the world is being close to his people. He is a cuddly little guy who never turns down belly rubs, snuggles, or affection from his foster family. He has the sweetest way of asking to join you on the couch. He'll calmly walk over, put his paws up on the side, and wait for you to help him up. Once he's invited onto the couch, he plops right down and melts into you for cuddles. Harris loves affection and has a gentle, loving way of showing his people just how much he adores them. Harris is also very friendly and polite when meeting new people and making new doggy friends. He seems to approach new experiences with curiosity and an easy going attitude. He enjoys taking in new sights, sounds, and smells and is happy to explore the world around him at his own pace. He doesn't feel the need to be the center of attention every second of the day, but he truly loves being included and spending time with his people. Whether you're relaxing at home, spending time outside, visiting new places, or heading out on an adventure, Harris would be happy to come along and simply enjoy being by your side. If you work from home, Harris could make the perfect little coworker. He is quiet, laid-back, and perfectly content relaxing nearby while his humans work. Harris has such a special combination of playful puppy energy and a calm, gentle soul. He knows how to relax and appreciate the simple things in life, making him a wonderful companion for someone looking for both a playful puppy and a calm, affectionate best friend.

Harris is low to medium energy, so he is pretty laid back with short spurts of puppy energy that are easily burned with playtime in the backyard. He requires a few short energy burning activities per day, like short strolls around the neighborhood or play time with his doggy friends. He enjoys playing with kids and dogs in his foster home, splashing in the pool, and tossing his toys around to chase after. He really is the best of both worlds because he is a great mix of active and laid back. If you want to go on a fun outdoor adventure, Harris will happily join you on a long hike, fun day at the beach, or exploring nature trails. He is equally happy cuddling on the couch for a lazy movie day with his humans too. He would be a wonderful match for an family who wants a pup that can have fun and be able to relax with the family. Harris would be especially happy with a family that enjoys getting outside. As he grows, he’ll likely love having opportunities to explore, sniff, learn, and experience the world with his people. Whether your idea of adventure is a peaceful walk through the woods or discovering a new dog-friendly spot around town, Harris would love to go with you. He also loves puzzles and treat dispensing toys that he can work on to get yummy treats as a prize. His ideal home will have a toy box full of squeaky toys, ropes, and chew toys, and he’d be thrilled to have a BarkBox subscription to keep the fun going with new surprises every month, especially now that he is about to start teething. If his humans are busy, he’s perfectly capable of entertaining himself. He’ll happily settle down with a toy, chew contentedly on a bone, or play with a treat dispensing puzzle to keep himself busy. His adaptable energy level makes him a great fit for families who want a dog that can keep up when it’s time to be active, but also knows how to settle in and relax for lots of cuddle time.

Harris is dog, cat, and kid friendly. He is currently in a foster home with multiple dogs of different ages and sizes. He loves every dog he meets and would love to have another playful doggy companion in his forever home. He does well with small dogs, big dogs, young dogs, old dogs, and he's managed to win them all over. He knows proper doggy communication skills and how to respect boundaries with doggy friends, and takes correction well if other dogs communicate that they don't want to play. He has such a laid back demeanor that he can hang out with the senior dogs in the home and they don't mind him one bit. There are also kitties in his foster home and he loves to spend time with them. He will patiently lay on the floor and let the kittens jump all over him, bite his ears, and use him as a jungle gym. He would do best with dog-friendly cats that have lived with dogs before because he is a puppy and will want to play with them if there are no other dogs in the home. Hayes is currently in a foster home with kids ranging in ages from 5 to 12, and he adores them all. He is an incredibly sweet, playful, and affectionate boy who truly enjoys being around his people.

Harris is still working on mastering kennel, leash, and potty training. He will sleep in a kennel at night with no fuss, but has to be bribed to go in initially with treats and his favorite toys. He has transitioned to go outside for potty breaks, and has started alerting his fosters that he needs to go out by pacing around the back door. If he isn't let out quickly enough, he will use a potty pad by the back door, but has been able to hold it most of the time in order to give his fosters time to get to the door to let him out. He will need consistent potty breaks every few hours to continue his potty training and establish a good routine once he is in his forever home. He would also benefit from having a doggy doorbell by the back door in his forever home so he can notify you when he needs to go out. He will make it through the night without an accident, but needs to be taken out first thing in the morning when he wakes up. He will need additional leash training in his forever home.

Harris' ideal home would be one where he can be included in his family’s daily life and get plenty of love, exercise, and attention. He would love to live in a home with a fenced yard to run and play in. He’d also be perfectly content in an apartment, condo, or townhouse as long as he gets regular walks and playtime. He would thrive in a home with another playful, friendly dog to grow up with and continue learning from as he gets older. No public dog parks for this sweet boy because who wants to risk your pup catching a disease or being bullied on by other random dogs anyways. He would love to have fun adventures at Sniff Spots for playtime and exercise if he doesn't have a private fenced-in yard. If you work out of the home, he would benefit from going to doggy day care a few days a week so he can burn energy and play with some doggy friends. He is the perfect pup for a family with kids because he loves to cuddle and loves to play, and he would love to grow up with kids in the home. With his sweet personality, gentle nature, and easygoing approach to life, Harris is going to be a great pup for someone that's looking for a laid back and fun companion.
