At 100+ pounds, Freya is an impressive girl-but underneath all that Cane Corso beauty is a thoughtful, sensitive dog who has been taking her time figuring out shelter life.
Freya was surrendered to the shelter and needed several weeks to come out of her shell. But once she decided her people could be trusted, we started seeing a whole new side of her. Now she's eager for attention and has quickly become one of our very best walkers!
What Freya Is Like:
Energetic, curious, and gentle on leash
Loves exploring her surroundings
Laid-back but always ready to play
Loves carrying a tennis ball
Knows "sit," "down," "shake," and "roll over"
Very motivated by hot dogs
Freya is a thoughtful girl who likes to take new experiences at her own pace. Once she trusts you, though, she's happy to engage-and she's discovering that walks, playtime, and human attention are pretty wonderful things.
She's also lived with cats and can do well with children around 10+, on a kid-by-kid basis. Other dogs are a dog-by-dog decision; she showed respectful behavior with a smaller dog but can get a little vocal when she's eager to play.
Freya's Ideal Home Looks Like:
Kids around 10+, on a kid-by-kid basis
Other dogs, on a dog-by-dog basis
Cats, based on her previous experience
A patient family willing to let trust develop naturally
Someone who enjoys walks, exploring, and a big goofy dog with a tennis ball
Freya has come a long way since she first arrived. Now she's ready for someone who will give her the time and trust she needs-and then enjoy watching this beautiful girl blossom.

Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Freya is a cautious lady when it comes to shelter life, taking her time to build trust. She feels more at ease when introduced to people and things by someone she already trusts. As trust builds, she sought attention and contact more often. She walked well on a leash with curiosity about her surroundings.
During her assessment, Freya exhibited a laid-back demeanor but was eager to play, especially enjoying carrying a tennis ball. She showed stability around sudden sounds, although she was startled by open umbrellas. Freya understood cues like "sit," "down," "shake," and "roll over," responding best when motivated by hot dogs, as she sometimes lost interest in other treats.
Her good spatial awareness was evident when interacting with a smaller dog, as she maintained a respectful distance while trying to initiate play. However, she began to demand bark when the other dog became too intimidated to engage.
