Naya, The Kindest Pup - Canaan Dog Dog for Adoption in Franklin Township, New Jersey

Meet Naya — a sweet Jordanian rescue with a gentle heart and a remarkable spirit.

Naya is affectionate, loving, and happiest when she feels close to her people.

Rescued in Jordan, this beautiful Canaan Dog mix has been through more than most dogs ever should. She was found after being hit by a car outside Amman with multiple fractures to her pelvis and legs, as well as an older gunshot wound in her neck.

She fought hard through recovery — and today, what stands out most about Naya is not what happened to her, but the sweet dog she became.

Naya has limited vision, so she experiences the world a little differently. She may need some extra time to learn the layout of a new home and become familiar with her surroundings, but once she knows where everything is, she can settle into a routine and enjoy life alongside her person.

She is affectionate and sweet-tempered and would be a lovely companion for someone who enjoys a calmer relationship with their dog — neighborhood walks, quiet afternoons at home, time together in the yard, and plenty of cuddles.

Naya is also child-friendly.

She can be selective with some dogs, so any canine introductions should be thoughtful and gradual. Her experience with cats is currently unknown.

Because of her limited vision, Naya would do best with a patient family willing to help her adjust gently to a new environment. She doesn’t need to be treated as fragile — she simply needs people who will give her a little guidance as she gets to know her new world.

Once she does, she has so much affection to give.

Naya has already fought very hard for her second chance.

Now she is ready for the part where she gets to simply be someone’s dog.
