Anbar, the Special Gem - Canaan Dog and Australian Shepherd Dog for Adoption in Franklin Township, New Jersey

Meet Anbar — a joyful Jordanian rescue who is ready for her next great adventure.

Anbar is the kind of dog who makes it very easy to forget that she only has three legs.

She is playful, affectionate, happy around people, and loves being part of whatever is going on. Whether that means hanging out in the yard, joining you for a walk, curling up nearby while you relax, or soaking up some well-earned attention, Anbar is happiest when she feels included.

Rescued in Jordan, Anbar came to Tabanni after an injury to her front leg had healed incorrectly and left her in pain. The decision was made to amputate the leg so she could finally be comfortable.

And she adapted beautifully.

Today, Anbar runs, plays, enjoys affection, and approaches life with the kind of enthusiasm that makes you smile just watching her.

She is friendly with other dogs, cats, and children, making her a wonderfully versatile companion. She is also somewhat house trained and crate trained, and her leash skills are continuing to improve.

Anbar can take a little time to feel comfortable with unfamiliar people and would do best in a calm, relaxed home where she can settle in at her own pace. Once she knows she is safe, her affectionate personality really comes through.

You can imagine Anbar spending her days taking neighborhood walks, lounging beside you in the house, enjoying time in the yard, and happily accepting every cuddle you’re willing to give.

Her missing leg is part of her story, but it doesn’t define her.

What defines Anbar is that she is loving, resilient, playful, and very ready to belong to someone.
