Buddha - Bulldog Dog for Adoption in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania

Buddha is a 5-year-old, 47-pound Low Rider Bulldog with a heart as big as his adorable blocky head. This sweet boy first arrived at ACCT Philly after being spotted wandering the streets, following strangers while struggling in the summer heat. Lost, overheated, and clearly in need of help, Buddha quickly made his way into rescue. We don't know how long he had been on his own, but it's obvious that life hadn't been easy for him recently.

Despite whatever hardships he's faced, Buddha has remained an absolute gem. True to his breed, he is equal parts laid-back companion and goofy entertainer. He loves nothing more than lounging near his people, soaking up affection, and flashing his charming smile. Buddha is the kind of dog who is happy just being part of the family, whether that means joining you for a slow stroll, snoozing by your side on the couch, or accepting all the belly rubs and ear scratches you can offer. His easygoing, affectionate personality has made him an instant favorite with everyone he meets.

Sadly, Buddha is also a reminder of the lifelong consequences that can come from irresponsible breeding practices. The exaggerated low-riding build and poorly cropped ears he was left with have contributed to ongoing ear and skin issues that are common in the breed. When Buddha arrived, he was suffering from a painful ear infection and had multiple scabs and sores around his ears. He is currently receiving treatment and is already feeling much more comfortable, but healing will take time. His future family should be prepared for the possibility of ongoing ear and skin care as part of keeping him healthy and comfortable. Like many Bulldogs, he may require regular veterinary attention and maintenance to manage these conditions.

Buddha doesn't let any of that dampen his spirit. He greets each day with a wagging tail, a hopeful heart, and plenty of Bulldog charm. After spending too much time fending for himself, this lovable low rider is ready for what he deserves most: a family who will cherish him, keep him safe, and spoil him silly for the rest of his days.
