Linda is a super sweet, affectionate 2 year old bully / bulldog mix that weighs 58 lbs. She is full grown and should not get any larger. Linda has an amazing personality that is a perfect mix of calm and snuggly at home, and playful and adventurous when it’s time for fun. Whether you’re spending a quiet afternoon on the couch or heading out for an outdoor adventure, Linda is happiest simply being by your side. This lovable girl is guaranteed to make you smile every single day with her goofy charm and endless affection. When she gets excited, she snorts like a tiny piggy and wiggles her whole body with happiness. She’s famous for giving the sweetest full body hugs and absolutely melts for attention from her people. Linda is a total cuddle bug who loves curling up close during naps, leaning against you for comfort, and rolling onto her back for belly rubs whenever she gets the chance. She thrives on companionship and truly enjoys being part of the family. Although Linda loves lounging and relaxing with her humans, she’s far from lazy. She has plenty of energy for an active lifestyle and would happily join you for long walks, hiking adventures, or weekend outings exploring nature. She enjoys getting outside, taking in all the smells, and spending quality time with her favorite people. After a day of fun, she’s more than content to come home and snuggle up beside you for the evening. Linda is also incredibly smart and food-motivated, which makes training both rewarding and fun. She already knows several commands, including sit, shake paw, and patiently waiting for her meals until she hears her release cue: “go eat!” She enjoys learning new things and responds especially well to positive reinforcement and tasty treats. Like many bulldog mixes, Linda can occasionally show a stubborn streak, after all she is a bulldog, so she would thrive with a confident and patient owner who is willing to continue her training and provide consistent guidance, structure, encouragement, and love.
Linda is medium energy, so she is pretty mellow once she has had her daily exercise session. but she never passes up the opportunity to go have some fun. She is best described as an active couch potato because she's happy to lounge around as long as her human wants to, but the minute you want to go outside and go on a fun adventure, she's ready to go too. She enjoys going on short leisurely walks around peaceful, low traffic nature trails, and also on long, adventures hiking and exploring nature trails. She also loves to go swimming in pools and at the river. Her favorite activities involve just being with her humans. Whether it is a game of fetch, mental stimulation activities like hide and seek games with hidden treats, or a good game of tug-o-war, she is happy to partake. She loves her toys, chews, and puzzle games, and can happily entertain herself while you’re busy. She would be really happy if she had a monthly BarkBox subscription so she can get new fun toys and chews each month. Puzzle games and chew bones will also be great for keeping her busy indoors if you work from home, especially on rainy days. She would love to have a fenced in backyard that she can play fetch and sunbathe in, and is a non-negotiable for this bulldog princess.
Linda is kid friendly and absolutely adores being loved and doted on, and even enjoys playing dress up.She is a big girl who thinks she's a lap dog, so she may accidentally knock over smaller children who may not be as steady on their feet. For that reason, it is recommended that she be in a home with kids 10 and up so that happy wiggle booty doesn't knock any small children over. She loves to cuddle, get belly rubs, and share her sweet puppy kisses with everyone and anyone who will accept her love. She also gives the best hugs. If you sit on the ground with her, she will slowly and gently put her paws on your shoulder and then melt into your arms for a big hug. Her love language is definitely touch and she loves nothing more than being hugged and cuddled by her humans. Linda would do best as the only pet in the home. She was previously paired with another female dog when she was still in the shelter and was reported as doing best with male dogs in the play yard, but she really just enjoys having her humans shower her with affection and attention. She doesn't pay attention to other dogs she sees on walks and has even shared an elevator with other dogs in her foster mom's apartment complex. If a dog barks at her while she's out and about, she will bark back, but that's about it. She's easily redirected with a correction "no" and treats, and will happily continue on her walk without even looking back. She has not been tested with cats, so it is recommended no kitties in the home.
Linda is kennel trained, potty trained, and leash trained. She has perfect leash walking manners and loves to join her human on lots of fun adventures. Her foster home was in downtown Austin and she had fun exploring the busy city with her foster mom, but she is ready for a home with a fenced in yard so she can enjoy running around, playing fetch, and sunbathing whenever she wants. She is always happy to meet new people and will wait patiently to be greeted by a new friend. She sleeps with her foster mom in bed at night, but does go in the kennel while her fosters are out of the home. Just give her a yummy treat and some toys to chew on, and she happily goes inside to hang out until you get back home. She would really love to sleep with her forever family in bed at night, but would be perfectly content to sleep on a dog bed right next to the bed if needed. She is fully potty trained and will not have an accident in the home. She will communicate she needs to potty by tap dancing by the door. Her foster mom currently takes her out multiple times a day for short walks and potty breaks, and she doesn't need a full walk when she just needs to do her business. She will potty then head straight back inside to go finish playing with her toys or cuddle up on the couch for some snuggles.
Linda would thrive in a home where she can spend plenty of quality time with her people. She needs a home with a fenced in backyard and that is a non-negotiable for her. She was living in a foster home with four college girls and was able to adjust to their apartment setting, but she would much prefer to live in a quieter suburban or rural area where she can enjoy the outdoors without having to squeeze by a bunch of people on the sidewalks or worry about a constant flow of cars as she's crossing the road on walks. No public dog parks for this sweet girl because who wants to risk your pup catching a disease or being bullied on by other random dogs anyways. She would love to have fun adventures at Sniff Spots for playtime and exercise. Linda prefers to be the star of the show, so she needs to be the only pet in her forever home. She’s happiest when all the love and attention are just for her so she can soak up all the love and cuddles. Linda’s ideal family should be experienced with bulldogs/bully breeds and knows how to provide consistent structure and work through some stubborn bulldog traits from time to time. Linda has so much love to give and can’t wait to find her forever family that will shower her with all the affection, fun-filled adventures, and love she’s waited so patiently for. With plenty of love, cuddles, and companionship, she’ll be the most loyal and affectionate companion you could ever ask for.
Linda is in a foster home in Salem, Oregon. She can be adopted and transported to the following cities/states: https://www.loveandpuppypawsdogrescue.com/transport-locations
If you are interested in adopting Linda, please fill out an application at: https://www.loveandpuppypawsdogrescue.com/adoption-application.
TRANSPORT: Currently we have monthly transports. It will be up to the adoptive family to meet the transport to pick up your new family member. Please be advised that our dogs are adopted to their forever families prior to being transported. Unfortunately at this time, we cannot bring dogs for a typical meet and greet situation, due to the extensiveness of the transport distance and it being unfair for the dogs who are not adopted to have to make the trip back.
Please be advised that applications are reviewed in the order that they are received. To ensure we are honoring the dogs that we have committed to helping, we do have policies and procedures in place that we follow when reviewing adoption applications. LAPP Dog Rescue is ran 100% by volunteers, so please be mindful that when you submit an application that it can take a few days to be reviewed. Submitting an application is not a confirmation that the adoption will be approved/completed. Before submitting the application, please read the FULL description on PetFinder describing the dog's personality, energy level, housing requirements and our policy on meet and greets.
The cost to adopt is $100 if you are located in Oregon and can arrange to pick up Linda from her fosters. If she needs to be transported to another state, the total cost to adopt is $475, which includes $200 adoption fee and a $275 transport fee. The adoption fee includes all age appropriate vaccinations, spay procedure, microchip, flea/heartworm prevention, health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, plus any necessary vet care while in the rescue's care.
