Tate is a gorgeous 7-month-old Border Collie who weighs 29 pounds and is every bit as wonderful on the inside as he is handsome on the outside. His striking good looks are made even better by his incredibly soft, beautiful fur, but it’s his personality that will truly steal your heart.

Tate is super smart and eager to please, which makes him a joy to train. He loves learning and is the kind of dog who wants to understand what you’re asking and make you happy. With his intelligence, athleticism, and enthusiasm, we think Tate could be an excellent agility dog or a wonderful partner for someone who enjoys training and activities with their dog.

But Tate isn’t all about work. He absolutely LOVES people and is happiest when he is spending time with his humans. He also loves other dogs and enjoys having canine friends around. He has the perfect combination of intelligence, affection, and playful puppy energy.

Tate is already off to a great start with his training. He is crate trained, walks well on a leash, and is about 90% house trained. Like any young puppy, he will need continued guidance, consistency, and patience as he learns and grows, but he is clearly eager to learn and please.

Tate was rescued from a high-kill shelter in South Carolina, where his future was uncertain. Thankfully, he was given a second chance and has made his way all the way to New Hampshire. Now he is waiting for the part of his story we’ve been hoping for all along: a family who will love him, continue to teach him, and give him the forever home he deserves.

Tate is still a puppy, so his ideal family will be ready for the energy, training, exercise, and commitment that comes with raising a young Border Collie. In return, they’ll have an incredibly smart, loving, loyal companion who is ready to share his whole life with them.
