Some dogs are instant social butterflies and some, like Nova Mae, save their very best for their people.
Nova Mae is an almost 4-year-old, 38 lb mixed-breed (we think Border Collie/Lab) with a gentle heart and a deeply loyal nature. She may be a bit shy when meeting new people, but once she decides youre hers get ready for the cuddles. Nova Mae forms strong bonds and truly loves being close to her person.
Shes lived in a home before and came back to us through no fault of her own when her familys circumstances changed. Because of that, shes already house trained, crate trained, and understands what it means to be part of a family.
Nova Mae does best in a calmer environment where she can settle in at her own pace. She can be a bit anxious when left alone, so shes looking for a home that can offer consistency, patience, and plenty of companionship. In return, shell give you a level of devotion that only a dog like Nova Mae can offer.
She has done well living with cats and may be okay with the right dog companion, especially one that respects her space.
Like many sensitive dogs, the vet can be a little overwhelming for Nova Mae, but she does great with a little extra support (her happy pill helps take the edge off and keeps visits low-stress).
