Winnie is a gentle, sensitive soul whos just looking for someone to help her feel safe in the world again.
This 3-year-old, 56 lb brindle beauty made her way to Ohio from Tennessee alongside another dog named Memphis, and she does very well with him. She would likely enjoy having a calm, friendly canine companion in her future home.
Winnie may be shy and unsure when first meeting new people, and she may bark briefly when someone new approachesbut its simply her way of saying shes unsure, not aggression. Underneath it all is an incredibly sweet girl who wants to connect. Once she realizes shes safe, she warms up nicelyleaning in close, staying by your side, and showing her affectionate nature (often with lots of kisses).
She does well with other dogs and is not reactive at all. She can be a little unsure in new situationslike when another dog tries to initiate playbut with time and confidence, she continues to come out of her shell.
On walks, Winnie is a calm and easy companion. She prefers to stay close and will often check in with her person for reassurance, but as she settles in youll start to see her curiosity come out and her confidence grow.
She doesnt know formal commands just yet, but shes eager to please and would thrive with gentle guidance and consistency. She walks nicely on leash and has a mellow, easygoing energy once shes comfortable.
Winnie will do best in a calm, patient home with someone who understands that building trust takes a little time. In return, shell be a loyal, loving companion who is happiest right by your side.
