Jolene - Black And Tan Coonhound Dog for Adoption in Irwin, Pennsylvania

Meet Jolene! This beautiful 1.5-year-old Black and Tan Coonhound is equal parts sweet, cuddly, playful, and classic hound dog! Her nose and love of food often lead the way (and occasionally get her into a little trouble), and she never misses an opportunity to sing the song of her people whenever she feels the occasion calls for it!

Jolene is house and kennel trained and walks pretty well on a leash for a hound, although an interesting scent can make her a little strong-willed! She lives with small children and is generally indifferent to them, but toddler antics can sometimes make her nervous. She gets along well with other dogs, but does have some food-related resource guarding, which is successfully managed with crate feeding and keeping food put away. Cats and small animals are currently too exciting for her, so a cat-free home is recommended. With time and training, she may learn to coexist with them.

Jolene is up to date on vaccines, is being treated for Lyme disease, and is steadily gaining the weight she needs. She is otherwise healthy, and we are working on getting her spay scheduled.
