Mia - Australian Shepherd and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Irwin, Pennsylvania

Say hi to Mia! This sweet 1 year old Aussie mix is Daisy's (just adopted) daughter and is ready to find a family of her very own! At just 22 pounds, Mia is currently underweight and needs to put on a few pounds. She has plenty of love to give, though! She is very friendly, affectionate, and loves attention. She seems to be mostly housetrained and is still settling in and getting comfortable with her new surroundings. She is friendly with other dogs, has lived with young children and cats, and could be a wonderful addition to many families.

Mia is currently being treated for a flea allergy that has left her missing some fur. She is now on flea prevention, and we expect her beautiful coat to grow back. She also tested Lyme positive and is receiving Doxycycline treatment. She is up to date on vaccines, and is getting spayed 11/11.

Mia will be ready to head to her forever home on November 13th. If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate little companion who loves being loved, Mia might just be your girl!

The Australian Shepherd is a highly intelligent and energetic herding dog known for its loyalty and work ethic. Originating in the United States, despite its name, this breed is prized for its agility, trainability, and versatility in various dog sports and activities. Australian Shepherds have a distinctive medium length coat that comes in different colors, often with unique merle patterns. With proper training, socialization, and exercise, these dogs make excellent companions for active families and individuals seeking a devoted and playful four legged friend.

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
