Meet Yogi!
From critical care to critically cute, Yogi has one of the most inspiring comeback stories you'll ever hear.
Yogi was born to Mama Bear, a young Belgian Malinois/Black Mouth Cur mix who gave birth to her puppies while living outdoors on a rural Louisiana property without proper food or veterinary care. After Take Paws Rescue brought the little family to safety, everyone thought the worst was behind them. But a severe parasite burden left several puppies fighting for their lives, and Yogi became the sickest of them all.
Rushed to the emergency veterinarian, Yogi spent days in critical care receiving diagnostics, IV fluids, medications, and constant monitoring. There were moments when we feared we might lose this little fighter.
But Yogi had other plans.
Today, he's healthy, thriving, and making up for lost time by being an adventurous, happy puppy with enough love and personality to brighten every room he enters.
One look at Yogi's adorable little raccoon mask and you'll be smitten. His expressive face is impossible to resist, and neither are the endless puppy kisses he's always eager to hand out. He absolutely loves being cuddled and will happily melt into your arms whenever you'll let him.
Like any growing pup, Yogi enjoys a good wrestling match with his siblings, but spending time away from them while he recovered seems to have given him a wonderfully independent streak. Curious and confident, he's always eager to investigate something new, sniff out an adventure, or see what's happening just around the corner. Whether he's exploring the backyard or checking out a new toy, Yogi approaches life with enthusiasm and courage.
After everything he's overcome, Yogi doesn't take a single day for granted. He wakes up ready to play, love, explore, and remind everyone around him that resilience can come in the smallest, fluffiest packages.
Yogi has already proven he's a survivor. Now all he needs is a forever family to cheer him on through the rest of life's adventures.

All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention.

***Take Paws Rescue, based in New Orleans, saves dogs from high-kill shelters across the South, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it's the perfect match!
