Meet Justin — a 5‐year‐old Beagle with the gentlest soul and the happiest belly‐rub flop you’ll ever see. At just 15 pounds, he’s a petite little guy with a huge heart and an endless supply of sweetness.

Justin was rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation where he and dozens of other dogs spent their entire lives chained outside. Some of the dogs from his group are missing teeth from chewing on their chains or eating whatever food they could reach on the concrete. Through all of it, Justin somehow held onto his loving nature. He greets the world with soft eyes, a wagging tail, and a spirit that chooses kindness every single time.

He gets along beautifully with kids, cats, and other dogs — and he’s known for photo‐bombing his dog friends whenever a camera comes out. If there’s a picture being taken, Justin is absolutely in it. Belly rubs are his love language, and he’ll roll right over with a big smile the moment he trusts you.

Justin may be learning what a real home feels like for the first time, but he’s ready. Ready for comfort, ready for companionship, and ready to be someone’s loyal, goofy, affectionate best friend.

HFG Dog Rescue is a 100 percent foster-based rescue located in Berkeley Heights, NJ with a sister location, The Almost Home Wellness Center, in Aiken, SC. All of our dogs are rescued from kill shelters in SC + GA and once ready for adoption live in loving local NJ foster homes until they find forever families of their own. Our fosters begin basic training, housebreaking, and leash-walking skills to help pair you with the perfect pup for life!
