Sam is a 7.5‐month‐old, 63‐pound pup who’s just starting to realize how good life can be. He may be a little shy at first, but once he feels comfortable, his sweet, goofy personality comes forward.

He loves being outside, exploring, and especially spending time with other dogs. They help him feel confident and bring out his playful side, so Sam would do best in a home with another friendly dog to show him the ropes.

Sam is making steady progress on leash walking and learning new things every day. He’s a smart boy who thrives with patience, encouragement, and a calm environment where he can continue to grow.

One of his cutest traits is his expressive face — he has a look for everything, and each one is guaranteed to make you smile.

Sam is good with kids, cats, and other dogs, and he’s ready for a family who will keep helping him discover just how fun life can be.

Sam is neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped.

HFG Dog Rescue is a 100 percent foster-based rescue located in Berkeley Heights, NJ with a sister location, The Almost Home Wellness Center, in Aiken, SC. All of our dogs are rescued from kill shelters in SC + GA and once ready for adoption live in loving local NJ foster homes until they find forever families of their own. Our fosters begin basic training, housebreaking, and leash-walking skills to help pair you with the perfect pup for life!
