Meet Aster- her blue eyes are as electric as her personality!

Aster is around 2 years old.and around 45 pounds. We believe she is a cattle dog mix, maybe some shepherd of husky looking at her tail!

Aster was surrendered to a county shelter after her previous owner kept her locked in a crate all day. Now that she has found her way to us, she never had to worry about that again!

Aster is playful and full of energy. A home that is active would be a great match for her! Another dog would be a bonus. While she hasn’t been around children, with her energy and training needs, a home with older children may be best.

She is so eager to say hi to everyone. We are working on her jumping on people she meets, but her future home will need to continue to work on her training along with getting her the amount of exercise she needs!

Aster is very sweet and lovable, and just wants a chance to be a dog!

Adoption through STAF includes full vetting of the dogs, including a spay/neuter at 6 months (female)/9month (male) maximum.

We do not do same-day adoptions. You will be asked to return for at least one follow-up visit, then take the dog home for a trial period before officially adopting.
You must be 21 years or older to adopt from STAF.
Due in part to increasing coyote activity/incidents in the area and the difficulty of predicting how a dog will respond to invisible fence training, we can not adopt to homes with invisible fences.
We do request vet and personal references.
We can facilitate adoptions within a 30-mile radius of our Cincinnati-based shelter
