Jesse - Australian Cattle Dog Blue Heeler and Chihuahua Dog for Adoption in Boulder, Colorado

If you're looking for a pup to ride shot gun on your next adventure, look no further! Jesse is a 1 year old, 20 pound, Chihuahua / Blue Heeler mix with a gorgeous coat and bright personality! He's an all around handsome little Texas cowboy ready for a big adventure in Colorado!

At just 20 lbs, Jesse is the perfect size for just about any adventure. He'd make a wonderful hiking buddy on Colorado's trails, a cheerful companion for neighborhood walks, and a happy participant in backyard shenanigans with his family. And after a full day of adventures, this little cowboy is more than ready to hang up his hat and curl up on the couch or bed next to his favorite people.

Jesse is a friendly boy who is in a foster home with another dog and does great! He is social and he is potty trained!

More than anything, Jesse wants to be part of the family. He's the kind of dog who would be thrilled to come along for a car ride, visit friends, take a vacation, explore a new trail, or simply spend a lazy afternoon hanging out with his favorite people. He's pleasant, portable, and ready to be your sidekick wherever life takes you.

Jesse will do best with someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with their dog and wants a committed, loving companion for life's adventures. He's got plenty of love to give and is just waiting for his person to come along and give him the forever home he's been looking for.

Farfel's isn't open to a home where family members spend their days working full time outside of the home. We'd like Jesse to have more time, attention, and companionship than that lifestyle allows. Someone who works from a home based office and enjoys an active lifestyle would be an especially wonderful match for this athletic little guy who simply loves being with his people.

Jesse has been fully vetted and vaccinated to fulfill Farfel's commitment to adopting out only healthy pets. He has also been neutered in hopes of a future where canine euthanasia for space no longer exists.

Current research is clear that a fresh, human grade ingredient food is the best way to limit vet visits as well as to insure the longest life possible for all dogs. Farfel's, through personal experience, recommends Chi Dog (chidog.com), a fresh food diet for the health and longevity of your best friend.

Jesse will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Saturday 9/2/2026. If interested in this very loving and devoted best friend, please fill out a Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Applications can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit.

**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Jesse please be sure to submit the Farfel's Rescue adoption application that can be found at the link above or at farfels.com. Rescue site applications such as Petfinder or Adoptapet don't provide enough information for us to determine a great match for this very deserving dog and therefore aren't useful. We're sorry, but in many circumstances, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

The Australian Cattle Dog, also known as the Blue Heeler, is a hardworking and intelligent breed originally developed in Australia for herding cattle. Renowned for their endurance and agility, these medium sized dogs have a striking blue or red speckled coat and alert, curious expression. With a strong herding instinct and boundless energy, they require mental stimulation and physical activity to thrive. Blue Heelers are loyal, protective, and make excellent companions for active individuals or families willing to provide the engagement and exercise they need.

The Chihuahua is a small breed famous for its confidence, loyalty, and big personality, despite its tiny size. Originating from Mexico, these dogs are known for their large, expressive eyes and alert, curious nature. Chihuahuas make excellent companions, forming strong bonds with their owners and displaying a protective nature. They come in a variety of coat colors and patterns, with both long and short coats, making them a diverse and adorable addition to any family.

Farfel’s Farm & Rescue was founded on the idea that each dog deserves a loving home and the chance for a happy life. We are so thrilled to be able to rescue these amazing dogs from urgent situations in Texas, New Mexico, Arkansas and Cancun, Mexico. Working with a dedicated team of volunteers, the dogs are pulled from high-kill shelters because they’ve been recognized for the gifts they will bring to a loving family. They are then transported by specially licensed vans to Colorado for a second chance at life. The dogs are evaluated and treated for any medical issues before being transitioned to their new family, where they can become accustomed to having a family’s love, a warm bed and plenty of healthy food!
