PRESLEY
Australian Cattle Dog Blue Heeler, Basenji
🇺🇸
Austin, Texas
June 1st
female, small, young
DESCRIPTION
Presley was found in a ditch along a busy highway. She was very thin so we think she had been a stray for a few weeks. A kind person saw her and picked her up. She asked us for help to get her the veterinary care she needed, and we agreed to bring Presley into our program. We hope she’ll get adopted soon and be loved forever.
Presley is a quiet girl and she is very smart. She has already learned basic commands, and she’ll be a great dog to train. She loves other dogs of any age and size. She isn’t high energy and does great on a leash. She likes car rides and swimming too.
Presley is 6 months old and weighs 19 pounds. We think she’s a Cattle Dog and Basenji mix. She will likely be a small sized adult.
Presley is spayed, vaccinated for rabies, DHPP and Bordetella. She is also microchipped, heartworm negative and is current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
Presley can arrive in Dewitt, New York on 6/13. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out the application found here: https://throwadogabone.org/adopt.

ABOUT: AUSTRALIAN CATTLE DOG BLUE HEELER DOG BREED
The Australian Cattle Dog, also known as the Blue Heeler, is a hardworking and intelligent breed originally developed in Australia for herding cattle. Renowned for their endurance and agility, these medium sized dogs have a striking blue or red speckled coat and alert, curious expression. With a strong herding instinct and boundless energy, they require mental stimulation and physical activity to thrive. Blue Heelers are loyal, protective, and make excellent companions for active individuals or families willing to provide the engagement and exercise they need.
The Basenji is a small hunting dog known for its unique traits, including a highly distinctive yodel like sound instead of a typical bark, and the inability to bark like other dogs. Originating from Africa, these intelligent and curious dogs are independent, agile, and alert, making them excellent companions for active individuals or families with experience handling their assertive nature. Recognized for their clean habits and cat like grooming behavior, basenjis require regular exercise and mental stimulation to thrive in a loving home environment.
