Our adoption application can be found at the bottom of this pet's bio. Once your application has been approved, we can arrange a virtual meet & greet with you and Hope.
Hope is currently in a foster home in Houston, TX and is eligible to transport to an adopter as soon as one is lined up.
Meet Hope!
Hope is a 1 year old female, am staff / pittie mix who currently weighs 43 pounds. Hope is fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed and ready to find her forever home! Hope came to us as an owner surrender. Her owner had 12 dogs that he could no longer take care of and we agreed to bring her into our program! Hope is now in a loving foster home and thriving!
Hope is dog friendly and currently lives with another dog in her foster home. She can be shy at first, but once she is comfortable, she is the perfect balance of energy and calm! She will happily snuggle you all day, but then get the zoomies once she's outside and ready to play! She plays great with other dogs! She will initiate play and loves to play chase.
Hope has not been introduced to cats yet, but we are happy to cat test her for any serious potential adopters.
Hope is kid friendly! She's been around children ages infant to 5 years old. She's always very sweet and is more shy than excited. She has the sweetest temperament and would probably prefer children ages 8+ who are able to be calm and respectful to pups.
Hope walks well on a leash! She is calm and will stay right with you. She occasionally likes to stop and sniff something that interests her, but overall, she stays calmly with you.
Hope is *mostly* potty trained. She can hold it for about 6 hours and then she needs to be let out to go potty again. If you plan to be gone longer than 6 hours, she does really well with potty pads. She is crate trained, but she prefers to not be left inside of it for longer than 6 hours. She also does well if left to free roam and play with her toys.
Here's a small blurb about Hope from her foster mom:
Hope is the closest that I have come to adopting my foster in my 6 years of fostering! Although her size is on the smaller side, her spunkiness is insurmountable! She is the perfect combination of energy and calmness, and can adjust accordingly to your mood. She is so cuddly, she runs and jumps on the bed, and dives head-first next to you, like she is trying to become one with you, then curls up to get some loving. She sleeps great throughout the night, and is GREAT about sharing food, treats and toys with her doggie foster sibling. Her nickname is Piggy since she makes pig noises and her skin is pink on her belly. She is still a puppy and likes to chew things if left out, so just ensure that everything is picked up. She is always smiling with one ear perked up. She doesn’t bark at strangers passing by, or when other dogs bark at her. She has a calm demeanor majority of the time. She is going to need someone with patience, as she is shy with new people, but she does warm up! Loud noises and sudden movements scare her. Dog parks can be a little overwhelming for her, but she's always done well there. She will run with the pack and try and play with some dogs when she gets more confident. She would absolutely love a dog friend in her forever home as she really enjoys having a companion. She is the sweetest and most loving dog, and is so FUNNY! She will have you laughing all day with her different colored eyes, her 1 ear that flips up, and her frog-squats. She is very smiley and such an easy dog to have in the home.
