Sammy is a perfect size fur baby ready to warm your heart and comfort your side. He's a little cautious of new people or environments but it doesn't take much time at all to show him care and assure safety to have him be the best buddy for adventures and cuddles He's down to go on a walk with a trusted human where he is go with the flow and gently/easily checks out the surroundings with expert sniffery, often followed up with perfect hugs and joyous smiles.

He has overcome fear and uncertainty and since being rescued from the local shelter by Sunnyside Street Dogs, Sammy is now where hes beginning to learn what comfort and love truly feel like. Samuel can be a little excited when he's feeling unsure of things and sometimes a bit shy when faced with new people or environments, but that's simply because he likes to take his time and feel things out. Once he realizes he's safe, his soft and loving personality begins to shine through. He's calm, observant, and not the type of dog to create chaos. Instead, he's the kind of companion who will quietly stay by your side and form a deep bond with his people. This sweet sidekick is gentle, trusting, and incredibly sweet.

Even while dealing with a leg injury and discomfort, Sammy remained cooperative and kind, which says so much about the beautiful soul he has. He has healed well and plays without trouble. He did phenomenally well at a recent adoption event where he melted hearts and made lots of friends.......even was a perfect gentleman getting a bath there!

Sammy doesn't need perfection. He just needs a patient & loving home, a gentle routine, and someone willing to let him settle in at his own pace. In return, he's going to give endless loyalty, quiet companionship, and a love that feels truly special.

This sweet boy has his whole life ahead of him. Now he just needs someone willing to give him the chance he deserves.

*We coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states from Texas to your state or a neighboring state. These are ground transports using third party vehicles (vans/buses) converted for dog transport. Each adopter has the ability to track the van using the app Life360, and receives updates from transport along the way. Facebook chats are another resource to stay informed on tracking dogs on transport. Please be able to use one of these available services if you wish to follow your adopted dog on transport.

*Our adoption fees are based on the vetting we put into each dog. Fees for puppies (under 12 months) are higher because they require more vetting than dogs over 1 year.

*Listed breed and age are based on a best guess estimation by rescue and veterinary staff; DNA tests are not included in adoption.

*Our adopters are eligible to receive 50% off training with Curbed Behaviors Dog Training for programs booked within 30 days of adoption, and 25% off programs booked within 60-90 days of adoption.
