Kiki is a sweet, silly 4-5 year old American Bully that weighs 52 lbs. She is fully grown and will not get any larger. This affectionate girl loves nothing more than cuddling and spending time with her humans. Her affectionate nature shines through in everything she does, from her gentle cuddles to the way she’ll look at you with soft, loving eyes right before she sneaks in a gentle little kiss. She is adventurous, curious, and eager to learn and explore the world around her. She is extremely animated and will make you laugh on a daily basis with her silly antics. She has a fun personality that makes her always ready to join in on the next adventure. Her naturally friendly and outgoing personality makes it easy for her to make new friends, no matter if they're humans, dogs, or cats. She is the kind of dog that can easily fit into a variety of lifestyles and environments. She is the perfect pup to take with you on fun outings, such as dog-friendly brunch on a sunny patio, a stroll through the farmers market, a day at the beach, or visiting friends and family. She absolutely loves to be included in whatever her humans are doing. She's the best work from home companion because she will happily spend the day curled up on the couch or dog bed while you work. She is easily entertained with her toys and chews, and is just happy to spend time with her human without requiring your undivided attention. Kiki's dream home would be with a person or family that wants a loyal, loving companion that can join them on vacations, weekend outings, and lots of cuddles on the couch. If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate, well-rounded pup who will happily join you in both life’s adventures and its quiet moments, Kiki could be your perfect match.
Kiki is low to medium energy, so she is best described as perfect mix of active and laid back. She enjoys getting her energy out through a few shorter activities each day, such as going on leisurely walks around the neighborhood, playtime in the backyard, or having fun with her favorite toys. She is always than happy to lounge and relax with her people. But when adventure calls, Kiki is always ready to go. She would happily join her family on a long hike, a fun day at the beach, or an afternoon exploring nature trails along the river. She has an adventurous and curious spirit and loves experiencing new places, sights, sounds, and smells. At the same time, she doesn't need every day to be filled with nonstop activity. She is equally happy spending a lazy day at home watching movies, taking naps, and enjoying plenty of cuddles. She would be especially happy with a family that enjoys getting outside. Her foster home is on 15 acres and she just loves to go outside to check out the cows, go splash around in the creek, or just sunbathe on the deck while she naps. She’d make a wonderful companion for leisurely walks, exploring nature trails, weekend adventures, and outdoor activities. On rainy days, she can keep herself busy inside playing with doggy puzzles and treat dispensing toys. She is incredibly smart and loves to play mental stimulation games that involve her favorite treats. Her adaptable energy level makes her a great fit for families who want a dog that can keep up when it’s time to be active, but also knows how to settle in and relax for lots of cuddle time.
Kiki is dog, cat, and kid friendly. She would do perfectly fine being the only dog in the home or would love to have another laid back doggy companion in her forever home to hang out with. She is currently in a foster home with multiple dogs of different ages and sizes. She has done well meeting small dogs, big dogs, young dogs, old dogs. There has only been one dog she hasn't become friends with, but she coexists peacefully with him and just keeps her distance from him in her foster home. When she meets another dog on walks, she is always calm in her introductions and is never reactive towards them. She will remain neutral and give the other dog space until they want initiate introductions. She knows proper doggy communication skills and how to respect boundaries with doggy friends, and takes correction well if other dogs communicate that they don't want to play. She does not like to share her chew bones though, so no chew bones should be left out when the dogs cannot be monitored. She has no problem sharing her toys though. She has been introduced to cats inside the home and she really doesn't pay much attention to them. For the most part, she will steer clear of them and give them personal space. She does pay attention to outside cats though when she comes across them on her walks, and will get nervous if they're hiding under a car (she acts more like she's afraid of them than anything). If there is a kitty in the home, it is recommended that it be an indoor-only, dog friendly kitty and slow introductions are a must. Having a separate space for the kitty to acclimate to Kiki is necessary, so baby gates are recommended. It is recommended to separate with baby gates initially until they are comfortable with each other. Kiki was previously in a home with two kids and absolutely adored them. She is very sweet, gentle, and affectionate and would love to have older kids in her forever home. She would even love to play dress up, and happily will let you put hats, shirts, and skirts on her to prance around in. She does get the zoomies every morning when she first wakes up, so she may knock over smaller children who aren't as steady on their feet.
Kiki is leash trained, potty trained, and kennel trained. She will sleep in a kennel at night with no fuss, but has to be bribed to go in initially with treats and her favorite toys. She currently sleeps on the couch or a dog bed in her foster home, and she is not destructive when left out/unattended at all. She will not have an accident in the home and will let you know she needs to go out by doing a tap dance by the back door. If she isn't let out quickly enough, she will bark to alert you she really needs to go. She is leash trained and walks beautifully on a leash. She doesn't pull at all and does great when her foster mom walks her on a hands-free waist leash. She is very calm and easy going on her walks, and is not reactive towards people, dogs, cars, or scooters. Even if another dog is barking at her, she simply ignores them and keeps walking.
Kiki's ideal home would be one where she can be included in her family’s daily life and get plenty of love, cuddles, and attention. She would love to live in a home with a fenced yard to explore and sunbathe in. She’d also be perfectly content in an apartment, condo, or townhouse as long as she gets regular walks and playtime. She would do well in a home with another laid back, easy going dog, but she's the type of dog that can be completely happy being the "only child" and getting all her humans' love and affection to herself too. No public dog parks for this sweet girl because who wants to risk your pup catching a disease or being bullied on by other random dogs anyways. She would love to have fun adventures at Sniff Spots for sniff-time and exercise if she doesn't have a private fenced-in yard. She really enjoys exploring nature and sniffing everything along the way on her walks, so lots of outdoor activities where she can join her family on are her idea of a good time. She’s ready to find a family who will make her part of the everyday adventures, give her plenty of cuddles and attention, and show her just how wonderful life can be. If you’re looking for a sweet, easygoing companion who will happily tag along wherever life takes you, Kiki may just be your perfect little sidekick.
