Winter may be over, but that doesn't mean we can't introduce you to Bandit Timber Winter - a 10-month-old, Husky mix, who weighs about 67 pounds (as of 6/23/26). He and the rest of his WINTER litter were surrendered to us in Tennessee before making their way to New England.
Bandit is a fun-loving confident boy who LOVES playing, especially with larger balls! We recommend toys that are harder to destroy because this pup lives by the motto: "If there's a will, there's a way!" He's used to going to daycare to let his puppy energy out so a family that's active would be ideal. He's also very socialized and always ready to meet new people and other dogs, even at the vet office! While Bandit does bark at other dogs while on a leash, he enjoys playing with them, so hopefully it's just his way of saying, "Hello!" He's fine with cats (and will usually try to play with them) and he would be great in a home with older children or teens who know when to give space and respect boundaries. Sorry, toddlers!
Bandit is house-broken, rides well in a car and is crate-trained (he sleeps in it overnight and is usually in it for 2-3 hours a day). He's still working on not jumping (he's just so happy to see you!) and trying to be better on a leash since he pulls at times. He's never above bribes though! His favorite treats are Buddy Biscuits. Bandit knows commands like: sit, lay down, wait, and a few others he's working on. When he's not entertaining you with his silly zoomies, he embraces the couch potato lifestyle. Bandit can't wait to give you all his love and affection today!
All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.
Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted. To learn more about our *shelterless* rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of Frequently Asked Questions on our website at WWW.GDRNE.COM.
