Danny - Tabby and Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Vaughan, Ontario

***Danny is the friendly centre to which most of the foster kittens and cats in the room gravitate towards, so he must have one or more cat buddies in his new home to charm.

Perhaps Danny boy had a lucky star trailing him or his Irish good luck held, he was a miracle cat who fought to be alive and thankfully met up with good people who gave him that chance.

Danny was discovered cowering in the corner of a chicken coop in rural eastern Ontario. The homeowner contacted our partner rescue For the Love of Ferals, and they immediately sought to rescue this injured boy. Danny was terrified, but he could not run away because he had a broken pelvis and femur. Not only that, he was emaciated, congested from an upper respiratory infection, and suffering from ear mites and eye ulcers. FLOF and their dedicated fosters and veterinary team cared for Danny’s assorted medical ills, and this brave and sweet tabby boy responded with grateful purrs and steady improvement, as if he knew that the people were trying everything to help him heal.

The eye ulcer resolved with a third eyelid flap surgery that saved the eye, and except for a permanent scar on the inner corner of his left eye, he has no vision trouble and is no longer needing eyedrops. A consult with an orthopaedic surgeon indicated that Danny was likely a hit-by-car victim, but the pelvis and femur had healed in the interim and physiotherapy helped Danny to regain mobility. He was able to pass urine and stool normally, so it was decided to leave things as is since Danny was doing so well.

Today, Danny is happy, walking, jumping for toys, and packing on much needed weight! From a bedraggled, scared and paralyzed scrap of fur and bones, he is now the solid proof that given the chance, proper veterinary care, and consistent nutrition, cats with the will to live will flourish.

Now in foster with many other kittens and cats, Danny has taken the limelight and is vying for the title of Mr Congeniality! He is such a sweetheart, meowing for attention and happy to have his cheeks and back scratched so he can make many purry biscuits. He is playful, very active, and has a great appetite. He had absolutely no issues when introduced to both the younger and older cats. They all enjoy his generous affection and playful energy.

Danny is the perfect reminder that when helping hands are extended to him, he rose to meet them and thrived with the loving care. Throughout his ordeal, he maintained a sweet and brave front, making all who had a hand in helping him fall irrevocably in love. Now that he is ready to forge ahead and bond with his forever family, we hope that you too, are ready to welcome Danny home.

Our adoption fees cover vetting and include spay/neuter, vaccines (initial FVRCP and rabies), flea treatment, two dewormings and microchipping.

Adoption fees are $250 for each adult cat 1 year or older. Please note that fees may apply for additional required vaccinations (at $75 per booster) due prior to adoption. Total adoption fees will be confirmed by the AVA Adoption Coordinator.
