***Mojo was fostered with many cats, and prefers the quiet company of other mature, calm cats similar in temperament. She must have a few chill cat buddies in her new home to hang around with and feel safe.
Mojo is a shy, gentle soul who is still learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. Rescued from a hoarding situation where she lived outdoors with many others when the property was foreclosed, Mojo is understandably cautious — but beneath that quiet exterior is a cat who truly wants to trust and belong.
She enjoys gentle pets and will happily accept treats right from your hand (a big step for a girl like her!). Mojo especially loves wet food and Catit tubes — they’re the way to her heart. You’ll often find her tucked away in the cozy cubby of a cat tree, her favourite safe space, but she will come out when she feels comfortable.
Mojo was initially thought to have a fractured pelvis, however, xrays did not show any fractures, so the vet suspected that she may have a hind limb luxating patella that is causing the limp. She does not appear to be in discomfort, and still walk or jump when she wants to.
Mojo is what many would call a “shadow cat” — she prefers observing from a distance and moving at her own pace. She isn’t the type to demand attention, but with time, patience, and a calm environment, she continues to make progress and show her softer side.
She would do best in a quiet home with someone who understands that trust takes time and is willing to let her come out of her shell at her own speed. Once she feels safe, Mojo has so much love to give in her own gentle way.
One thing to note: Mojo is not a fan of carriers and can get very stressed during transport, so a patient and understanding approach will go a long way.
If you have a peaceful home and a kind heart where a timid soul can take refuge in, Mojo could be the perfect companion to grow alongside you. A quiet, undemanding, but oh so grateful presence.
