***Alana was found with her kittens near a dumpster in Vaughan, doing her best to keep them safe. Now that all her babies have found their families, it’s finally her turn. Alanna would do best with other mature, calm cats as companions in her forever home.
Alana is a shy and cautious girl, but beneath that gentle uncertainty is a cat who truly enjoys affection. She loves being pet — especially under her chin and around her face. While hands still make her a bit unsure, she happily leans into pets from a back scratcher, and with a glove on, she even purrs. It’s clear she wants the love— she’s just learning to trust the hand that gives it.
She’s been making beautiful progress in her foster home and is slowly becoming more comfortable with human interaction. The video shows the progression she made from being in a crate to openly moving around in the foster room. She may occasionally hiss to let you know she’s had enough, but she communicates clearly and continues to build confidence every day.
Alana is treat-motivated and absolutely loves both dry (Temptation) and wet treats especially Catit tubes, which she’ll take right from your hand. She also has a playful side and gets adorably excited chasing a laser pointer.
She prefers a calm environment and would do best with patient adopters who understand shy cats and are willing to give her the time and space she needs to fully blossom. While she tolerates adult cats, she’s not a fan of kittens—their high energy is just a bit too much for her.
With patience, love, and understanding, Alana has so much potential to become a deeply affectionate and loyal companion. Watching her come out of her shell is incredibly rewarding — and her future family will be lucky to be part of that journey.
