Panther may look like a sleek and powerful miniature panther, but beneath that striking black coat is a sweet, affectionate boy who has spent most of his life making friends wherever he goes.

For years, Panther lived outdoors, often visiting the same home and keeping people company while they worked around the yard. Even as a kitten, he enjoyed being around humans and was known for loving attention and pets. While his finder would have loved to bring him inside permanently, a family allergy and dogs that weren't cat-friendly made that impossible.

Since arriving at WARL, Panther has quickly shown us what a social guy he is. He loves greeting staff with cheerful conversations and never seems to miss an opportunity to tell us what's on his mind. If you're looking for a cat who will welcome you home and happily chat about his day, Panther may be your perfect match.

One of Panther's cutest habits is his happy tail wiggle. When he's excited to see you, his tail starts moving and before long he's rubbing against your legs or purring beside you, soaking up attention. It's hard not to smile when this handsome boy comes over to say hello.

While Panther doesn't seem particularly interested in making feline friends at the shelter, it's difficult to know whether that's his true preference or simply the result of sharing space with so many unfamiliar cats. His history with dogs is unknown, and we believe he would do best with older children or younger children who understand how to respectfully interact with cats.

Panther's glossy black coat and confident presence certainly live up to his name. Black panthers are often associated with mystery, beauty, and strength, and Panther has all of those qualities. But he also has something even better: a sweet personality and a loving heart waiting for the right family to notice him.

We think Panther would enjoy a home with a cozy window perch, a few toys to chase, and people who appreciate a cat that likes to be involved in daily life. After spending years watching the world from the outside, he deserves a family of his own and a soft place to land.

Walk-in adoption hours are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. We cannot place holds on animals outside of adoption hours, and we are unable to accept payment to reserve pets.
