Meet Couscous, a shy orange goofball with a heart of gold! He is approximately 1 year old.

This handsome orange cat may be reserved when you first meet him, but don't let his shy exterior fool you. Couscous just needs a little extra time to feel safe and settle into new surroundings. Once you've earned his trust, he transforms into the silliest, sweetest companion who will keep you laughing with his goofy antics. He loves to play with string toys, chase around his favorite cat toys, and happily soak up chin scratches and pets from his favorite people. Watching Couscous blossom from a timid observer into a playful, affectionate cuddle bug is incredibly rewarding.

While Couscous doesn't require another cat in his forever home, he has done well with other calm cats and would likely enjoy having a friendly feline companion. He also gets along well with calm, respectful dogs. His ideal home will be one that understands that the best relationships take time—and that the reward for patience is an incredibly loving, playful, and delightfully goofy best friend.

What Couscous is looking for in a home:

- He can get nervous, so he needs a kind and patient guide to help him feel comfortable with new experiences.
- He'll need extra time and TLC to build trust.
- He has lots of energy and will benefit from plenty of active play time.
- He feels at ease in a quiet and calm environment.
- He needs to live indoors only.
- He has a positive history with other cats and may like having a feline friend close to his age.
- He has a positive history with dogs.
- He has no known history with children.

All Alley Cat Project's cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated prior to adoption.

Alley Cat Project adoption fees are:

- $200 per cat or kitten
- $350 for pair of cats or kittens
- $50 for senior cat (over 8 years old)
- Flexible reduced fees for a cat with a chronic medical condition that requires ongoing care
- Additional charitable donations are appreciated and support our overall rescue efforts.
