Meet Bridget, a playful and independent cat! She is approximately 3 years old.
This cat is a good fit for someone who considers themselves a cat whisperer. Is she even going to like you? Who knows. But if you dare to try earning her trust and spend several weeks to several months doing so, you may find that she is highly food-motivated, loves head scratches, and may allow you to give her belly rubs in exchange for a Churu.
Her favorite things include napping, catnip, and destroying wand toys in a sophisticated hunt. She is an advanced litter box user and prefers sleeping during the day, becoming more social and playful in the evening. She won’t mind you being at work all day but will be happy to have company when you are back.
ACP took Bridget in with her newborn kittens over a year ago. She was an excellent mom, and all of her kittens grew up healthy and were successfully adopted. That’s how Bridget’s journey in foster care started. It took her several months to adjust to life as an empty nester who now has to deal with humans.
Cats like Bridget are special. They are often considered “semi-feral” or “non-adoptable,” but that usually just means they haven’t met their person yet — a patient adopter who is willing to give them a chance at an indoor life, safe from coyotes, raccoons, and other predators. In Bridget’s case, she often acts like she is too cool for you and may try to scare you away, but for a feral cat, she loves lounging on the sofa and getting head scratches from a trusted human a little too much.
Bridget needs a special person who understands boundaries. If you do become “her” human, you have a chance to build a beautiful, lifelong bond. Cats like Bridget are not easy to win over, but if you do, you’ll gain unmatched loyalty and a best friend.
What Bridget’s looking for in a home:
- She’s new to indoor life with humans, so she needs a kind and patient guide to help him/her continue adjusting. Loud noises, fast movements, and strangers make her nervous.
- She’ll need extra time and TLC to build trust.
- She feels at ease in a quiet and calm environment.
- She needs to live indoors only.
- She prefers to be the only cat in the house.
- She has no known history with dogs.
- She needs an adult-only home.
All Alley Cat Project’s cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated prior to adoption.
Alley Cat Project adoption fees are:
- $200 per cat or kitten
- $350 for pair of cats or kittens
- $50 for senior cat (over 8 years old)
- Flexible reduced fees for a cat with a chronic medical condition that requires ongoing care
- Additional charitable donations are appreciated and support our overall rescue efforts
Thank you for your interest in adopting Bridget! If your household fits the above criteria, you can apply to adopt {him/her} by filling out this questionnaire: https://alleycatproject.org/adopt
