Meet Blaze - Apparently Someone Thought He Was Disposable

Blaze is proof that some people should not be allowed to make decisions for cats.

This handsome 5-year-old orange-and-white boy was recently dumped on a dead-end street in New Fairfield.

And not even in a subtle way.

A neighbor noticed a strange car at the end of their cul-de-sac. The car suddenly took off, and when it disappeared, there was an orange cat standing there looking around like:

"Ummm... did somebody forget something?"

Yep.

Him.

The neighbor immediately called Animal Control, who did exactly what they should have done. After Blaze's mandatory stray hold was over, they reached out to us.

And of course we said YES.

Because apparently Blaze's previous person didn't understand that cats are not curbside trash.

Blaze is understandably a little shell-shocked by his recent change in circumstances, but here's the thing:

He has absolutely no interest in holding a grudge.

He's friendly. He's happy. He's healthy. And he LOVES attention-especially those wonderful pets around his ears. Give him a little affection and Blaze is perfectly happy to be your guy.

And we've taken care of the boring-but-important stuff:

Up to date on vaccinations
SNAP negative
Microchipped
Ready for a REAL home

Honestly, we're thinking the name Blaze fits him pretty darn well.

He's got the orange coloring.

He's got a little spark.

And after being dumped on a dead-end street and still deciding that humans are worth trusting?

That's some serious heat.

What Blaze needs now is pretty simple:

Someone who understands that when you bring an animal into your life, you don't abandon them when life gets inconvenient.

You make a commitment.

You stick around.

You give them a soft place to land.

Blaze has already had one person let him down.

We're looking for the person who will make sure he's never let down again.

Just don't expect him to stay mad about his past.
