Sweet Pea is a beautiful brown tabby with a gentle soul and a heart that just needs a little time to bloom. This petite 1-year-old girl may be shy when meeting new people, but underneath her timid exterior is a cat who forms deep, meaningful bonds with the people she trusts most.

Here at the shelter, Sweet Pea has been understandably nervous and prefers the safety of her cozy back corner while she adjusts to all the unfamiliar sights and sounds. In her previous home, though, she showed her true personality — quietly affectionate, happiest with her favorite person, and interested in making friends with the other cats around her.

Sweet Pea tolerates being held but would much rather curl up somewhere safe while she learns that she’s loved and secure. She’s looking for a calm, patient home where she can settle in at her own pace and build trust slowly. With time, understanding, and a quiet environment, Sweet Pea has every chance to become a loyal companion who shares a special bond with her person.

If you believe the best friendships are worth waiting for, Sweet Pea may be the perfect match for you.

At the Humane Society of Midland County, all animals adopted will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations prior to an adoption. Dogs over 6 months of age will be heartworm tested, and any dog with a positive test will receive treatment at No Appointment Needed to Meet Adoptable Animals!
We have open adoption hours, and walk-ins are always welcome! While filling out an application lets us know you're interested in adopting, it does not hold an animal, and applications are not required to meet the available animals. We do highly recommend and may require you to bring any dogs that reside in the same household, or that will be around commonly if you are meeting a new dog companion.

Want to Know if I’m Still Available?
