Meet Claire!
Sometimes the smallest kittens need a little extra help finding their way forward, and Claire is one very special little girl.
Claire arrived at the Columbus-Lowndes Humane Society as a young kitten who was still too little to be on her own. She was introduced to a mama cat and three siblings and quickly became part of their little family. When her new family was ready to travel north through an ASPCA transport, Claire was simply too young to go.
Thankfully, a local rescuer stepped up to make sure Claire wasn't left behind. She welcomed her into foster care and gave her a chance to grow a little bigger while waiting for her own trip to Sweet Paws Rescue.
And what a gift she is!
Claire has mastered the art of asking for attention. Give her one glance, and she'll answer with a purr and a little meow that says, “Excuse me... would you please pick me up?” She absolutely loves being with her people and will seek them out for affection.
When she's not busy getting cuddles, Claire is ready to PLAY! Wand toys and balls are two of her favorites, and she is always happy to entertain herself—or find a kitten friend to join the fun.
And then there's that gorgeous coat! Claire is a beautiful silvery tabby sprinkled with calico patches, a coloring often called a dilute tabico. She also has a naturally shorter tail, something she was simply born with and one more adorable feature that makes her uniquely Claire.
This little girl is truly a bundle of love and joy. She has already had a few detours on her journey, but each one led her closer to the people who were determined to give her the chance she deserved.
Now she's ready for the best chapter yet.
Any family would be incredibly fortunate to have Claire.
Sweet. Playful. Affectionate. Beautifully unique. Completely Claire.
Everybody loves kittens, and it's easy to see why! Kittens four months old or younger are only adopted out in pairs or to homes that already have a friendly, playful resident cat. Young kittens simply do not thrive in isolation, and we do not make exceptions. If you're looking for a single cat, please look to our older kittens, teens, or adults. They're wonderful companions and fully ready to be your one-and-only.
All of the Sweet Paws animals are loved a great deal by their rescuers, fosters, and the volunteers who've cared for them along the way. Your kitten will be up to date on appropriate vaccinations by adoption day, but please keep in mind that kittens require multiple routine vet visits throughout the course of their first year. Sweet Paws is staffed by volunteers, and processing applications is time intensive; therefore, we ask that you only submit an application if you are fully committed to adopting.
