Meet Sad Boy

Despite his name, Sad Boy is one of the sweetest boys you’ll ever meet! At approximately 3-years old, this handsome gentleman has a gentle, mellow personality and so much love to give.

Sad Boy was rescued from a park in South Central Los Angeles where our rescue has helped numerous cats over the years. Following the clearing of a homeless encampment in the area, we suspect Sad Boy may have once belonged to someone. While we’ll never know his full story, his incredibly sweet nature makes us believe he’s known the comfort of human companionship before.

Sad Boy can be a little shy when meeting new people, but it doesn’t take long for his affectionate personality to shine through. Once he feels comfortable, he warms up quickly and shows just how loving and gentle he truly is.

He’s also wonderful with other cats and kittens! His easygoing temperament makes him a lovely companion for a home with feline friends. Rather than being the center of attention, Sad Boy is perfectly content enjoying the simple things in life: a peaceful environment, a cozy place to relax, and the love of someone he can trust.

After everything he’s been through, Sad Boy deserves a home where he’ll never have to worry about being left behind again.

Please also note that adoption fees are non-negotiable and we do not offer discounts.***

We want adopters to thoughtfully consider the lifelong commitment of a pet. As a volunteer-run rescue, we cannot always process paperwork immediately after meet-and-greets. Most adoptions are finalized within 24-hours.

To help speed up the process, please email a walkthrough video of your home and a list of indoor plants/flowers to adoptioncoordinator@mariospaw.org after scheduling your meet-and-greet.

Our adoption process consists of:
- a submitted application and list of indoor plants/flowers
- in person meet-and-greet
- video walk through of the main areas of your home
- adoption link sent to your phone with our contract where you will pay the adoption fee and receive the medical records sent via email

What’s Included in the Adoption Fee:
Spayed/Neutered (Pets are not adopted without surgery)
Microchipped
FIV/FeLV tested (Felines)
Up to date on FVRCP (Feline) or DHPP (Canine) vaccines
Dewormed and flea-treated

Your adoption fee also helps cover supplies, administrative costs, and vet care for our many medical cases allowing us to rescue more animals in need of extra surgeries, specialist care, and rehabilitation.
