Chocolate Chip is a beautiful brown-and-white lop who was relinquished with Cocoa Bun to SDHRS in April of 2026. She can be a little shy at first, but she feels most confident when she's alongside her bonded companion, Cocoa Bun. The two are rarely far from each other. They have been seen loafed side by side in quiet relaxation, on their hind legs in perfect sync to curiously check out their surroundings, and even burrowed together under the blanket in their exercise pen. We are still getting to know them better as they warm up to human interaction.
Spayed on 1-21-2026
Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV) is a highly contagious and deadly disease that affects both wild and domestic rabbits. The virus is causing deaths in rabbits and hares native to North America and is spreading rapidly. In addition to detection of RHDV2 in wild cottontail rabbits and jackrabbits, RHDV2 has been confirmed in domestic rabbits on 50 premises, including a detection in a feral domestic rabbit. Please make sure to vaccinate your rabbits every year. For more information, please visit our website at: https://sandiegorabbits.org/education/rhdv
