Meet Ashley! This beautiful brown bunny was transferred to SDHRS from another shelter in April of 2026. She was previously a stray. During Ashley's brief stay in foster care, she has shown that she is curious, active, and loves having room to run around and do binkies! She also loves pets, and will lay relaxed and content while receiving them.
Ashley is overweight but is improving. We are still working on moving her toward a healthy weight. Litter box trained, spayed, vaccinated against RHDV2, and microchipped, Ashley is now looking for her forever home!
Spayed: Date unknown, prior to intake.
Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV) is a highly contagious and deadly disease that affects both wild and domestic rabbits. The virus is causing deaths in rabbits and hares native to North America and is spreading rapidly. In addition to detection of RHDV2 in wild cottontail rabbits and jackrabbits, RHDV2 has been confirmed in domestic rabbits on 50 premises, including a detection in a feral domestic rabbit. Please make sure to vaccinate your rabbits every year. For more information, please visit our website at: https://sandiegorabbits.org/education/rhdv
