Meet Redford, a gentle giant with a heart of gold. For the first year of his life, Redford was just another statistic on the streets of Northeast Houston, struggling to find food and a safe place to sleep. Everything changed when a wonderful volunteer noticed him for several days wandering inside a trailer park. After our rescue agreed to help this boy, the volunteer quickly found him resting outside a convenience store. He willingly hopped right into her car, ready for a better life.
Now fully vetted, neutered, and safe in a foster home, Redford is thriving alongside several other dogs and a cat, as well as two children. He is a gentle, old soul who gets along wonderfully with every human and animal he meets. Redford finally knows what it feels like to be loved, and he is ready to bring that love to his forever family. Could that be you?

His foster mom describes him as an incredibly sweet, loving, tender dog who is extremely laid back and just so happy to be in a home where he finally feels safe. At night, he happily sleeps in a bed on the floor beside her bed, and doesn't move until she gets up in the morning. Everyone who has encountered Redford absolutely adores him and comments about his unique appearance...and his beautiful eyes!
Redford will do well in a home where his main caregiver will be able to spend the majority of his/her time with him and not leave him for extended periods. Due to his large size, a home with older children and/or dogs that are medium to larger size will continue to help Redford flourish into the ultimate family dog.
