Francine - Terrier and Shih Tzu Dog for Adoption in Sparta, Wisconsin

Meet Francine! Francine is approximately 10-12 months old and thought to be a Terrier-type mix. She was found as a stray and was not claimed by her family, so we're still learning about her as we go.

Francine can be bashful at first, but once she settles in, she's such a little goofball! She has spunk and such a cute playful side to her! Because she can spook easily, her family should expect to be patient with her and give her plenty of time and space to settle in. We think it could help if she's got another pet around, as she seems to be open to meeting other friendly dogs, but this is not a requirement for her. She'd likely prefer older/respectful children who can understand her boundaries, but it's also possible that once she's back into a home setting, she could be a lot less shy.

Because we don't know her history, we are unsure if Francine was ever potty trained. She seemed unsure of the leash at first, but she's getting used to that pretty quickly. She loves being by her favorite people and is absolutely a lap girl. We recommend safe containment for Francine (always leashed before going outside, secured fence, etc) because bashful dogs can be spooked away and we want to make sure she's kept safe.

Francine does well in her kennel at the shelter, enjoys being outside, and even plays fetch! If you're looking for a young, active and snuggly little companion to join your home, Francine would enjoy meeting you as long as you're patient with her. Francine will be spayed & fully vaccinated prior to adoption. Her adoption fee is $240.
