Sammie - Shepherd and Labrador Retriever Dog for Adoption

SAMMIE

Shepherd, Labrador Retriever
June 11th
female, medium, adult

DESCRIPTION

Meet Sammie!

Sammie is a 1.5-year-old, 50-pound Shepherd/Lab mix with one ear up, one ear down, and enough sweetness and affection to melt anyone's heart. This adorable velcro dog loves being close to her people and is happiest when she is by your side.

Sammie is a very fast learner, walks beautifully on a leash, loves treats, and is eager to please. She is remarkably calm and mellow for her age. Her foster mom has never heard her bark, and Sammie does not jump up or nip.

Although she may be shy for a minute or two when meeting someone new, it doesn't take long before her affectionate personality shines through. Sammie is wonderful with children and other dogs, and because she is so gentle with her foster family's free-range chickens, it is believed that she would do well with cats, too. She truly seems to love everyone she meets.

Sammie is fully house-trained and enjoys spending a few minutes sniffing around the backyard, but she would much rather be back by your side soaking up kisses and affection. She is not especially interested in toys and would much rather spend her time with her humans. She can be trusted to stay loose in the house while her family is away and will happily nap on the couch until they return. She has also done well when crated and is content to relax there when needed.

If you are looking for a family-friendly sweetheart who will follow you around and love you unconditionally, Sammie may be the perfect match for you.

Sammie is currently being fostered in Bay Shore, NY. Her adoption fee is $500.

To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
