History: Brutus and his brother Chippy were born to a Shepherd mix Mom and a Mastiff mix dad. They are loved by their family but sadly must be surrendered because a community member who dislikes dogs has threatened them so the decision was made for the dogs safety.

Brutus is a gentle, laid-back soul with a big heart to match his Shepherd/Mastiff roots. Friendly with everyone he meets—kids, adults, and other dogs—he’s the kind of dog who just wants to be near his people and enjoy an easygoing life. He’s house-trained, well-mannered indoors, and not a barker or troublemaker. Brutus does get a little anxious with a collar, so a harness and a patient approach will help him build confidence on leash. A home with a yard would be ideal while he adjusts, giving him space to stretch out and feel secure. Brutus and his brother have been used to a more rural area so would do well with the same or a quiet suburban area with a nice sized yard. With his calm nature and loving personality, Brutus is ready to be someone’s steady, loyal companion.
