Herro kind humans! My name is MIRA (or Miranda, as they call me down here), and here is some info about me:

RESCUE STORY – I was born into a bit of a hoarding situation where an old, kind man was trying to take care of sooo many homeless dogs. I met my very best doggo friend here, Cleo. She's older than me and she was my buddy for the first 3 years of my life. She made me feel secure and confident. Rescuers finally found us and took most of us out of the unsafe house, and we are all looking for our furever hooomans.
TEMPERAMENT - I am a very chill gal. Like, sooo calm and sweet. I really like having Cleo or another dog with me. Sometimes I am scared at first in a new situation or person, but I am definitely willing to trust. My rescuer would say I am shy, reserved and sometimes skiddish at first, but now I seek out my hooman and want to cuddle and get petted. And I'll kiss you too, thankful for your love. See it here! I reeeeally love treats and hanging out with my doggie pals. You'll usually find me lying beside my pals (most likely Cleo!). I respond best to food and a calm, gentle voice.
ENERGY LEVEL - I'm chill and usually have low energy, but who knows how I will be with my new family! I am only 3 years old, after all.
GETS ALONG WITH:
Kids – I haven't been around any kids yet.. so, unsure!
Dogs – Yup! I live with lots of other dogs at the shelter, especially Cleo.
Cats – No, they scare me!
PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I'm not too sure how I'll react around new things in Canada like squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.
TRAINING:
Leash skills – Not too bad! I never got walked during the first 3 years of my life so I am just getting used to new routines. I know this is when I should go potty but sometimes strange, loud noices freak me out when I'm out walking. I'm a work in progress :)
House trained – Work in Progress. I know I'm supposed to do my business outside in the courtyard at the shelter, however I still have a few accidents. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn propper habits in my new home :)

Any subsequent sessions will be offered at standard rates. WCP also highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.
HEALTH NOTES:
I am spayed and vaccinated. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records.
I receive a monthly pill to prevent heartworm.
NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.
ADOPTION FEE:
My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD including tax ($750.00 + 5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver.
